Getting present with your animal choose their quiet time, sit or stand close but not touching. close enough they are aware of you. Eye attention just to side of them so you see them in peripheral. Direct eye contact promotes thinking. Get present max of 10 secs. Then gauge their thinking levels 0 to 10 and repeat. Understand animal's resistance, can sometimes be uncomfortable. Present moment may bring up deep seated problems to surface so could appear worse but eventually be diluted. (Pouring water into a small glass of juice). 80% time not uncomfortable. May show neediness, trying to make you think. Important to stay non reactional. Gently push animal away. Patience, persistence and position. Creating non emotional peaceful space. At end give feeling to animal of pride. Persistence means doing a little bit and keep stopping and going back so it is not too much for animal. It's about them not you. Some animals can't always be present as they have too much going on. Longer it takes the more it can mean, layers of onion. Creating atmosphere, animal knowing it's you deepening the relationship. Realisation learning. Get present at least mins a day with animal.
