Notes: CD 3 #2 Keeping your focus.
Keeping your focus is the difference between failure, and success.
Keeping your focus is literally the ability to keep your focus on the animal and not on yourself.
Because when you keep your focus on the animal it is the animal's feelings that you pick up on, not your own.
if you pick up on your own feelings, (by not staying in focus) you will doubt everything you say and negate it.
The key to communication is to keep your focus on the animal! KNOWING that when you do ask a question you will ALWAYS get a feeling back in answer. (as long as you keep your focus on the animal!)
In the 'real now' you will be focusing on an animal while using your senses to stay focused. This presence gives you a calm confident feeling. And your focus being on the animal will allow you to pick up the feelings easily.
The 'Imagination now' where we created a special place in your imagination, again, using your senses and inviting the animal in, allows you to keep your focus, predominately on the animal.
This is the same with 'Flow Writing'. Using the animal's voice in your mind, and writing as if you are the animal communicating is very focused on keeping your attention with the animal.
These tools are incredibly effective but you have to use them!
You have to recognize when your mind starts thinking, brining your attention back into you. When you start thinking in a doubtful way, this is the time to use the techniques.
In the Real Now if you start thinking is this right? Is this wrong? That's the time to focus on your senses. So that your mind calms and you ask the question again.
If your mind is racing away and you are thinking your own thoughts, you are not in the space to be able to feel the animal and nothing will happen.
When you are in the space of putting your full attention on the animal, you will have good, accurate flowing communication.
You have the tools to make this work but, it is your responsibility, to recognize where your thoughts are.
Here is another tip to help you:
We call this the feeling focus. It is a tool that allows you to keep your focus with the animal.
Let's say you are asking an animal, what's your character like? You didn't believe you had a feeling coming back. Doesn't mean that it didn't come back to you. Its just that you didn't pick it up.
Your in a position to go two ways now.
One is to keep your focus with the animal and pluck that feeling out. The other is to question what you are doing and be full of doubt where you move away from the focus on the animal, and more into your own feelings.
The feeling focus is a tool to keep you on track and feeling the animal and this is how it works.
At that point where you feel you do not have a feeling, rather than making that commitment that oh I haven't got a feeling, ...Say to yourself, this needs my feeling focus. With that you hold the feeling even though you don't believe you've got it.
By saying to yourself, 'how can I best describe that feeling?'
When you ask yourself, how can I best describe that feeling, your attention is still on the feeling of the animal. It is a FANTASTIC TECHNIQUE! Not only does it help you to pick up feelings that you think you didn't get, but it also allows you to get more detail from the animal.
Example: Horse feelings/car park memory.
Another good tip on keeping the good flow of an AC, is the use of little words such as, 'when, why', how', where' These words, add depth to your communication.
If you ask an animal, 'how do you feel physically'? and the feeling back was 'I am sore'....your next question could be, 'where'? and then you might feel sore on your back legs. then ask, 'when' did that happen to your back legs, and then you can be aware that you can get more and more depth, by using small words.
(children do this a lot 'why' but 'why' why'??? and they get more information each time! :-)
Remember to keep digging to get all the information that you can for the Custodian to help the animal.
A Message from Sunday:
James asks Sunday, 'How can I best support my students? Should I be optimistic for them? Or should I lower their expectation? What was the best approach? Should I be glass half full or half- empty?
The feeling I received back from her:
Do you want to know the truth?
Of course I responded with 'Yes.'
Then she gave me a beautiful communication.
The feeling was, the glass is both half full and half empty! It's both! It's a reply I've never heard before, it's been one or the other!
But with Sundays great wisdom, of course it's both half full and half empty.
And with that reply came a very strong feeling. There is something more important that right or wrong anyway.
And if you're to pressurize yourself with the 'I must get it right', and not get it wrong, that means you're going to be in a state of thinking. Which moves the attention away from the animal and back into yourself.
And guess what? The communication won't be as accurate. On the other hand, if you ask the questions and you write down the feelings without even questioning it even if you think you are wrong or right, who cares, writing down every little feeling that you get back, then sharing that information with the human that is related with that animal. You will be able to acknowledge which parts were right and wrong.
Even if you question what was done, before you get feedback from the human, it will change the nature of your communication.
And you'll be taking confidence away from yourself. So the best thing is just get on and do it. So rather than me having to be positive or negative for people, the thing that I do is, share this story.
Because I feel it has the true essence of the greater picture of your right and wrongs. And hopefully, it will just allow you to get on and DO IT! :-)
Imagination Now Communication.
For this communication you will need a picture of an animal you do not know.
However, you will need to know the name of the animal, and also what sex he or she is. And the name of the human who is related to the animal.
I recommend that you have a quiet place to work in, where you know you're not going to be interrupted. And have a pen and paper ready.
It is good practise before you do any communication, that you quiet your own mind. Its time to leave the rest of the world behind.
This is not a place for your worries or your mortgage, or your relationships. You're going to be keeping your focus and being present, with another being.
Lets use our Real Senses from the REAL Now Communication, and quiet yourself down before we go any further.
Get yourself comfortable.
Using your own unique 3 senses, focus on your first sense.
And whilst you're concentrating on that sense, bring in your 2nd sense, and concentrate on both of them at the same time.
Whilst you're concentrating on both of those, bring in your 3rd sense so you're now focused on all three.
Keep this focus for the next minute.
Any thoughts that come up for you, keep your focus back to your senses, and keep your mind quiet.
