Good opportunity presented itself, and I brought ÉilÃs into the present moment! She was awake after a nap. Raised up enough to bark at Gabriel (cat) as he ran by, but then sat down again. Thought it was a good moment to give her some Peace of Mind. Did the technique for 7 minutes. We started at a 4, and I brought her down, slowly to zero. :-) Emrys was right by her side, and was already at a 3, and went straight away down 2, 1, to zero. :-)
Â
When you go into the present moment, sometimes they find that hard, so want to nudge you into more action with them. ÉilÃs wanted me to engage with her physically with a touch, but I didn't allow it after the initial contact to get her attention on me.
Anyone who is slightly needy is insecure. If the dog has an insecurity and you are sharing the space, if someone comes to the door and she goes crazy, then
Â
The present moment has a very strong effect on animals. They sometime can barely keep their eyes open or stay awake.  You don't have to be present for 10 15 minutes solid. You can do it for a minute or two, then talk and check her and then back to the present moment.Â
So all the excitement, can hit a peaceful moment and sometimes the dog will go through things like yawning out, burping, sour burping, etc...
Â
He's bringing Daisy back into mind of him, by calling her name gently, and gently manoeuvering if necessary guiding her attention back to James. Then bring her back down to calmness.
Doorbell goes off, she barks, you bring her into position, (sit) and then do the present moment.
The role is to get Daisy to sit, and become present and her mind will reduce with what you are doing. Action: knocking on the door. Bringing the animal's attention to you, and then getting present.
It is a reconditioning of the mind, so peace, patience and persistence.  The dog must get quiet enough, to HEAR you again. And remember to keep it low and quiet. You don't want to get her mind too high.
When they do not respond to your command to sit, just get present! Do it until Daisy's mind gets quiet, and repeat!Â
