Notes:
Willingness is a key component in co-operation, which will provide a shared benefit.
Keep the ego part of self in check. This is not a competition.Â
Trusted co-operation is a combination of gratitude and the intuitive connection.
The creative reaction (reducing thinking levels using mindful regard) needs to be established before you can enter into trusted co-operation.
Trusted co-operation is enhances with Realisation Learning, particularly with sensitive animals. Where you have helped the animal to be calm in previous stressful or scary situations. The sensitivity doesn't go away it just changes into responding negatively to something to instead responding positively.Â
The spirit of co-operation is about mutual exchange. It must be voluntary.
We must use trust motivation rather than fear motivation.
Working with gratitude is about engaging with the animal's intelligence through invitation and reward. Clear communication is required when asking the animal for an action, the reward is gratitude.Â
Reward comes in many from treats, herd, comfort, play, connection and the a ability to cooperate clearly with another. These rewards all have different strengths.
Rewarding horses is not so common. Horses can become over attentive if you are not clear with your reward.
Whips, the bit, spurs are all fear motivation tools. the fear motivation forces the animal to eventually give up and resign to the domination.
The treatment of slaves can be likened to the treatment of horses, where horse are fed and sheltered, but forced into action and punished if they don't comply.
Round pens can be very intimidating to horses, and when a horse is whipped, you are asking it to be more afraid of the whip than of the stressful situation.
Thinking levels of above 7 means that the animal is being fear motivated. 4 to 5 is a more measured state where the animal can start to listen.
When we say clear communication, break the task down into small understandable sections. Encouragement and gratitude means that the understanding is gained and engagement is assured.
Once the action has been undertaken by the animal and before a food reward is given, reduce the thinking rates down again, so that the animal understand the reward is for a reason - the action. If the thinking levels re not reduced the animal can get over attentive.
Some animals are encouraged to find courage to perform a task. this is often expected when distractions are provided. However, courage still holds an element of fear (to overcome the situation). Trusted co-operation helps the animal to understand why they receive the reward, rather than having to summon up courage.
When the animal is in a listening state they can better understand what you are asking of them, by feeling you intention. When we speak to others its usually are feelings that create the tone, intention and body language that directs and supports our communication. Animals read feelings.
When you imagine something you are also conveying feeling too in the imagining.
Sensitive animals have real potential to develop really deep and close relationships.
