We have all been conditioned over centuries to believe such things as the boss theory, pressure methods, animals don’t have feelings and that somehow your animal is competing against you. This stems from the judgement of “bad” behaviour which needs correction and reprimand. The problem here is that behaviour is only the outward expression of something else, which is happening on a deeper level and that is how your animal is FEELING.
Either consciously or subconsciously you will be sharing these feelings. It will more than likely be expressed by you as one or as a combination of these emotions. Frustration, anger, worry, guilt, embarrassment, helplessness, despair, anxiety and the list goes on.
This creates a gap between how you truly feel about your animal, the love you have for them and the way you are reacting to them. It is this separation that causes the most pain in the relationship!Â

Thank you for the Messages of Trust Course. I will go away and do my homework to learn to be present and stop high level thinking. I really do over think everything and if I can change that and help my horse I will have achieved a life goal that has eluded me for years.
The only problem I had while doing the lessons was falling asleep! I did it in the middle of the day so not a time to be snoozing. I had to keep stopping the video and rewinding to listen to it again and follow the instructions. I hope that is a good sign!

I consider this a more holistic approach to teach humans, as well as animals. I’ve always known animals were telepathic and this just reinforces that belief. The work you’ve presented makes sense and even the “homework” makes sense in that it starts strengthening those “inner muscles” that have atrophied. I appreciate the soft spoken approach and understanding of the animal! …LISTEN!
And it’s funny…as I was doing the “being in the moment” exercises, I paused and was writing down my statements when Kyote (the shy one) walked up and put her paws on me and I “KNEW” exactly what she wanted, INSTANTLY. I noted that in the moment and was impressed.

Hello, this is Kathy. And, the photo is the “New Normal” me! I loved the video and learning series because I love my own animals and want to help my new puppy adjust to me and my 15 year old tiny dog. The puppy is just being a pup, rambunctious and full of energy is over powering my old and fragile, tiny girl. She is the most peaceful and loving being I have ever had the pleasure of being around. But, I had no idea what bringing a puppy (and a male at that!) into our lives would do to her. I’m constantly in fear that he is going to hurt her and she is defenseless with no teeth to nip at him along with him outsizing her by 2ce her size. Earlier in my life, I would have just sold or given him away. But, I don’t want to do that. I just want to learn what to do by changing my own reaction to his behavior while keeping his life fun and any my tiny girl safe. I’ve always wanted to help other dogs as my heart goes out to all of them who are rescued from horrible and abusive lives. I would adopt them all if I could. This program may be my motivation to make a difference in my life and those of others – both animal and human.
