I'm still learning, but I was already able to use the Trust Technique with my 2.5 yr dog, a green horse I'm working with, and neighbours' puppies (we teamed up with my dog working on them, she may be learning the TT faster than I can!))) It was truly an eye-opener. Some elements of this can be found in the teachings and techniques of the best dog and horse trainers - perhaps arrived at intuitively; but James was able to actually make a comprehensive system, explain why and how it works, and create highly effective practical guidance. This makes this technique so effective and universal. It also allows one to sort through methods and techniques one has been taught before learning this or may encounter later - and remove counterproductive elements that often inhibit growth and progress. This course is truly amazing and I would recommend it to everyone who is looking to progress beyond fixed prescriptive training methods, build trust and communication with their animal, build self-awareness and work on advanced forms of cooperative interaction. I would like to mention that many elements of TT also work well with small children who are not yet relying on verbal communication. I've also noticed that I'm now changing my communication with adults as well, recognizing a very important component of non-verbal communication between humans.

The TT -Video Course, relating years of experience, is a wonderful tool to make the world a softer place, for both animals and humans. Thanks to James and Shelley for having created this fantastic pedagogic path online! Regular updates are really ‘the icing on the cake’!
When it is gentle, soft or sweet, it is TT! That is what I do appreciate so much!
Keep up the good work, kind regards.

I have easily spent 4 times the cost of the Trust Technique video course on professional trainers, group obedience classes, animal communicators, and every kind of training collar, harness, etc. to help my 90 pound American Bulldog overcome his sensitivity and reactivity. Not to mention thousands of dollars on vet bills for allergies and digestive issues aggravated (if not caused) by stress, some originating at birth. While all of those things "worked" to some extent (i.e., produced a more compliant dog), even the positive aspects were not life-changing. I turned to the Trust Technique somewhat as a "last resort" after my dog bit a jogger--something I never thought he would do, and which he did whilst walking just behind me at a perfect heel, on a loose lead, without a sound of warning. What a helpless feeling, to know your animal is suffering and feel you've tried everything to help, and they're actually getting worse! I just wanted him to be able to talk to me: to tell me what's working and not working, what hurts, what's scary, what's manageable and what's simply "too much." The Trust Technique gave me that. It revealed to me in a systematic way the natural ways of being with animals I take for granted, and stripped away all the "conventional wisdom" of my professional life with dogs. It showed me how to unlock my own creativity in service of my animal. It brought back the joy of being in the world with my dog, almost especially when things go "wrong". It's the best feeling in the world to help an animal learn something without fear, to witness that joy and gratitude when they master themselves. For both of us, it transformed "heel" into "heal." I was sceptical that anything so simple, that anyone can do, could work where all these other techniques had failed. But it's the ONLY thing that worked. It's fair to say there isn't any relationship--to a person, animal, or area of life--where applying the Trust Technique hasn't revealed a new path forward for me.

I have known since quite a long time that I wanted to help dogs and their owners heal in a compassionate and holistic way but was unable to find any approach aligned with my compassionate view of the world and its living beings. Then, suddenly, James French appeared in a You Tube ad - which ads I usually skip at all times. And then, another synchronized event happened when my aunt who was a spiritual therapist introduced me to her friend who teaches Reiki for animals, which training I am doing this weekend. I can’t wait to complete the practitioner training with your team and have a positive impact in the world by helping animals and their owners, through a combined approach of reiki and trust practice. Thank you James French for simply being such a compassionate being and for bringing this amazing training and helping me find my life purpose. Simply thank you from the bottom of my heart! I will be forever grateful! And keep doing these ads 🙂

Hi James, Shelley,

I'm so glad of the timing where your promotional video came on youtube while I was looking for something else. It took me about 5 minutes to apply to the programme. I was developing my activity to coach people with the gentle help of horses and their emotional language. I had also applied to another training in animal communication, from a different provider a few months before and started to find my own relational approach with horses by learning ethology, to improve my way to introduce people to them during my coaching sessions. Still... something was missing to create an intuitive bond between people and animals. I couldn't find the way I wanted, to make people find their own and authentic language to interact with them... and here you come! with a beautiful, simple way to create a space of learning and communication! so I began to practice with my little Gypsie cat.. who has emotionally gone through a lot with me this 2020 year, very sensitive... I have an exceptional emotional bond with her.. way too needy for her to relax away from me even in the room next door... I didn't manage at first to introduce to her the TT because I didn't realise that few seconds were already too much for her. She's got so much contained in her little body!! I found the right pace for her and she released more and more, session after session. Now we are working with the invisible lead so she can stay peaceful if I go suddenly into another room or if I go in my car. She's so smart and I regard her in a really different way.
I love the new relationship we are creating thanks to you. She's even doing the job by herself now... if I settle somewhere in the house she comes next to me and goes instantly sleepy. With light support from me, she goes into a deep healing state when she needs to.
I could also tell you amazing things about horses. Still, because I didn't found at first the right pace. I wanted to be present with a mare who had her foot done and kept taking her foot back from the person working on her. I stayed so present that she pushed us all away so she could lie down. She was taking it back because my present moment was making her heavy and she couldn't stay balanced! Imagine the eyes of the owner at that time, and the person working on her...
Well.. I've learned to listen to the pace of the animal with mindful regard now and the results are amazing. Thank you dearly for what you do for these animals and most of all for us to make us become better listeners to get the chance to be taught by them. They are full of resources we can't even imagine, such inspiring beings. I will straight away apply to the practitioner program so I can help to spread this mindset in France with anyone who would want to collaborate (Chloe is amazing by the way.. Trust Technique makes us meet beautiful human souls at the same time ^^).
Again I'm sincerely grateful to you James, Shelley and everyone I don't know contributing to this.
Have an amazing continuation
Diane
